Founded in 1997 by Baffour and Dr. Tonette C. Otchere, the Ghana Schools Project, launched by Pro-Visions Ministries Outreach, endeavors to address literacy and reduce preventable diseases in Ghana by assisting students, communities, and hospitals with products and resources.
Since the program's beginning, schools and clinics have received numerous donations, including thousands of textbooks, desks, bookcases, computer laptops, sunglasses, medical supplies, and more.
Donations are still greatly needed to help students and the community overcome the shortage of resources necessary for learning and receiving proper medical treatment.
In 2018, Pro-Visions Ministries Outreach partnered with the Rotary Club of Cincinnati #17 and the Rotary Foundation, transforming the Ghana Schools Project into a flagship initiative acknowledged by the World Affairs Committee (WAC), the Ira Abramson Eye Scholarship through Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Flynn & Company, and Marchon. This partnership has significantly impacted schools, hospitals, and clinics in Ghana. In recognition of its numerous achievements, the Rotary Club of Cincinnati #17 has honored the Ghana Schools Project with two Merit Awards.
